Hi, and welcome to our project and community!

I'm Becca, and I am an experienced advocate, consultant and specialist support worker with a Master's degree in Autism, and a wealth of experience working with individuals of all ages with complex special needs.

I specialise in working with neurodivergent individuals who have slipped through the cracks, often because they have missed out on services and support through school/ early adulthood due to being very academically able, but find the world a challenging and confusing place to access. I am committed to working in an entirely person-centred way, following my clients' interests and goals through personalised and high quality support that empowers individuals to reach their full potential. My approach is rooted in relationship-building, and I have a talent for creative problem solving and adapting to changing circumstances.

I would describe myself as highly empathetic, a good listener, and just the right amount of funny! I prioritise independence, high levels of mental and physical wellbeing, and it is very important to me that my clients develop self-advocacy skills during their support time to enable them to enter their communities more able to ask for what they need to make environments accessible for them.

In my career, I have worked with families in crisis, providing support in a range of settings and communities. I have trained for the National Autistic Society, specialising in PDA, and have carried out a variety of interventions to support individuals with complex needs.

I have a huge love of the outdoors, and have managed several outdoor settings in previous roles to enable people with complex needs to access the therapeutic environment of nature. I am a L3 trained forest school practitioner, and have a certificate in therapeutic skills for outdoor leaders, which I apply to much of my daily practice with my clients. Regular activities may involve getting out in the Peak District for walks, volunteering for the RSPB or helping my clients make safe spaces within their gardens, and I am a huge believer in the positive impact of the outdoors on health and wellbeing.

You can usually find me tending to my houseplant collection, walking in the hills or saying hello to all of the dogs I pass when I am out and about.

Hi!

My name is Ellen, I am a champion of inclusivity and nature enthusiast. With a wealth of experience, it is my mission to empower young people to soar beyond limitations!

I guide and support individuals with additional needs, helping them unlock their full potential. Whether it's exploring new hobbies, conquering social events, or simply going shopping, we're on a journey of growth and empowerment.

As a wildlife conservationist by heart, I also thrive in the great outdoors, and understand what benefits my clients can gain from connecting with nature's wonders.

My therapy dog, Beau, and I regularly explore the Peak District on walks and camping trips where we like to experience nature in the most remote places we can get to! Beau is another feature of my support if clients would benefit from his calming influence and funny ways, but he is happy having a chill day at home as well if needed.

Join me on this transformative journey as we tap into the wonders of nature to promote well-being and ignite positive change in mental health. Together, let's embrace life's adventures while fostering confidence, life skills, and a love for our beautiful planet!

Hello

Let me introduce myself!

I'm Brooke, a highly accomplished personal assistant & independence champion with 10+ years of experience supporting young people to mature adults with learning difficulties to complex needs within social care and education.

I would describe myself as calm, caring, compassionate, kind with a good sense humour.

My aims as a personal assistant are to promote my clients' independence, social skills, interpersonal skills, confidence and self-esteem.

I will support clients to develop these skills by completing meaningful activities within the home and local community.

I have a BA in Accountancy and Finance from Huddersfield university, but I came to realise that I have great enthusiasm for working with people. I am also hugely motivated to keep developing my skills and knowledge regarding SEN. I have been able to complete my level 3 in education and training with LHG Training.

I have 3 dogs (lurchers) which I am very fond of, and I am part of a walking group with the same kind of dogs, who regularly meet. I show my dogs around the local areas from time to time. In addition to this, I enjoy spending time with good friends, along with reading and watching films.
